Dr Velamazán joined Althaia, Xarxa Assistencial Universitària de Manresa in 2021. He is working towards a PhD in the Medicine program at University of Zaragoza under the supervision of Dr Angel Lanas and Dr Enrique de Madaria. His main line of research is the characterization and consequences of symptomatic gallstone disease; his project in this area recently won a national grant. Velamazán is part of the AEG (Asociación Española Gastroenterologia) young talent group committee that promotes education and research among young gastroenterologists.
In his free time, he loves sports of all kinds and enjoys promoting medical education through his social networks.
