GOES researcher Cristina Vidal receives a grant to evaluate the quality of life of patients who underwent rectal cancer surgery

Fundació Althaia has awarded Cristina Vidal, a researcher of the Gastrointestinal Oncology, Endoscopy and Surgery research group (GOES), a grant to carry out the study “Efficacy of Stimulation of the Efferent Loop and Rehabilitation of the Pelvic Floor in the Quality of Life of Patients Who Underwent Anterior Resection of the Rectum (ENESP): Randomized Clinical Trial.” The 5,000 euros grant will allow Cristina Vidal to dedicate some of her time to this study. This is one of the two grants awarded in the framework of the internal call that the institution launched at the end of 2022 to promote scientific research in nursing.

An evaluation committee of professionals from Althaia, the Catalan Health Institute (ICS), and the University of Manresa was set up to evaluate the submissions. When assessing the proposals, the scientific background, the appropriateness and specificity of the hypotheses and objectives, the appropriateness and suitability of the methodology, the scientific and socio-health relevance, and their most immediate applicability were considered.
