Figols is a medical oncologist specialized in clinical and translational research in genitourinary oncology. She holds a degree in Medicine from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and completed her residency in Medical Oncology at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu de Manresa.
During her training, she actively participated in phase II and III clinical trials in genitourinary cancers. Since completing her residency, she has been involved as principal investigator and sub-investigator in multiple international clinical trials in prostate and bladder cancer.
She currently works as a staff medical oncologist at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu de Manresa, combining clinical practice with research. At the same time, she is involved in the training of Medical Oncology residents and collaborates in university teaching as a member of the teaching and research staff at the Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC), teaching in the Medicine Degree programme.
She is currently pursuing a PhD focused on predictive biomarkers of response to neoadjuvant treatment in muscle-invasive bladder cancer.
